International Student Scholarship by College of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science of National Taiwan University Application
(for 2025 Fall Semester)
Dear Students,
Warm greetings from EECS, NTU. This is Cathy Chen from the college office of EECS.
Please kindly find the Application information below for the International Student Scholarship by the College of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science of National Taiwan University (hereinafter called the EECS College scholarship):
- Available Degree:
Current international graduate degree students only (exclude Overseas Chinese/Hong Kong/Macao/Mainland Chinese students)
- Eligibility:
- Students must comply with the Ministry of Education’s “Regulations for International Students Undertaking Studies in Taiwan”.
- At the time of application, current students must have achieved an Average GPA of Academic Year 2024 of 3.2 (if the student has been enrolled for less than a year, then the previous semester’s score will be calculated).
- Students must still enroll in NTU as graduate student after June 2025.
- Award:
- For doctoral student: NTD $16,000 monthly living cost.
- For MS student: NTD $12,000 monthly living cost.
- Duration:
Minimum 2 months~Maximum 4 months (from September 2025 to December 2025)
- Quotas:
Maximum 4 MS students and 4 doctoral students
*Please note that the duration and quotas of awards will be regulated each semester due to the College’s financial situation. The exact duration and quotas of the EECS College scholarship for 2025 Spring semester will be announced to applicants along with the reviewing result.
- Required Documents:
- Past-year’s transcript
- If this semester is your first semester at NTU, and you don’t have NTU transcript, please provide the transcript from your last University.
- If this semester is your second semester at NTU, the previous semester’s transcript will be acceptable.
- Curriculum Vitae
- One to two Letter of Recommendation
- At least one must be from your advisor.
- Letters must be sent directly by the professors to Ms. Cathy Chen (cathychen@ntu.edu.tw); submissions via students will not be accepted.
- Newly admitted students without an advisor may ask a familiar professor to provide a recommendation letter.
- Publication List (Required Document for Ph.D. Applicants)
- Thesis Proposal
- If you haven’t started your project, you can provide other academic beneficial materials as Point 5.
- Other beneficial materials. For example, participation in competitions, published papers, or awards.

- Send all required documents via e-mail to Ms. Cathy Chen (cathychen@ntu.edu.tw). The email title should be “EECS College Scholarship Application_your name_ your student ID”

- The application dateline is 5 pm October 31st, 2025.
- We will not notify the missing documents; you will be unqualified until you submit the completed documents. Please ensure you have all documents before applying and sending them out.
- Please be advised that the regulation of the EECS College scholarship is that “if the other scholarship that you receive have not regulate that you cannot receive another scholarship, and the money you receive are lower than the EECS College scholarship, then you can apply for the EECS College scholarship”.
- Please note that recipients of the Outstanding International Graduate Student Scholarship and the NTU Doctoral Student Scholarship are not eligible to apply for the EECS College Scholarship.
