The Net Zero Tech International Contest evolved from the TECO Green Tech International Contest (prior to 2019) and, since 2023, has been co-organized by the TECO Technology Foundation and National Taiwan University in response to the global vision of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.
The contest is structured into two main classes—Energy and Sustainability—and features a diverse range of activities. Over the past three years, it has developed into a global platform for leading researchers and innovators to exchange ideas and advance net-zero technologies.
In addition to the distinguished Grand Champion award (TWD 1,000,000), a total of 40 awards are presented across the two classes, with a total prize pool of TWD 7,450,000 (approximately USD 230,000). Detailed information on the contest guidelines and awards can be found in the attached materials.
The Review Process is conducted based on submitted written materials. A total of 40 finalist teams will be selected to participate in the Final Round in Taipei. Each finalist team (with at least three members attending) will receive a travel subsidy of TWD 50,000 (approximately USD 1,500).
During the Final Round, a series of international exchange activities will be arranged, including the Welcome Gathering, Industry Technology Showcase, Awards Ceremony and Networking Dinner, Net Zero Tech Workshop, and Field Trips to leading net-zero enterprises and institutions. These activities will take place from August 18 to 21 and are designed to facilitate high-level international exchange. All activities are offered on a complimentary basis and organized to a high standard.
Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, we were honored to maintain a strong and continuous connection with your institution, with faculty and students participating in the contest annually. As the 2026 contest is now open for registration, we sincerely invite you to continue advising student teams to participate and engage with global peers in advancing net-zero technologies.
