\uff5c\u6458\u8981\uff1aSince we published our review titled \u201cCalcium, ATP, and ROS: a mitochondrial love-hate triangle\u201d in the American Journal of Physiology: Cell Physiology in 2004 <\/em>(PMID:\u00a015355853), it has been cited ~ 2,900 times according to Google Scholar. This is indicative that the topic is still of research interest to the general scientific community nowadays. In this seminar, I will update our continuous research on this topic, specifically focusing on the sarcoplasmic reticulum and mitochondria (SR-Mito) communications in adult cardiac muscle cells. I will present that SR-Mito tethering not only controls spatial and temporal aspects of mitochondrial calcium, energetics, and redox dynamics but also mitochondrial health and survival.
